Fragrant, forward nose of black fruits, creme de cassis, pronounced herbaceous notes, rich tobacco and cedar with an underlying earthiness...a lot going on here! Medium body. The palate is greeted with beautiful, pure flavors of currants and cassis, dark fruits, earth, minerals, and fresh cedar thats nicely framed with a faint kiss of toasty oak. Such great balance, with nice harmony between the chewy tannins and acidity. Moderate-plus finish. This Mouton is still quite youthful and should only improve with another 8-13+ years in the cellar.The history of chateau（酒莊歷史）：Chateau Mouton 位于拉菲莊旁。它在十五世紀已是種植釀酒葡萄的園地，但直到1730年Brame家族買下該地后蓋上房子，該園才算得上是個象樣的酒莊。后來他的后代Baron Hecter de Brane發現赤霞珠(Cabernet Sauvignon)最適合在本園生長，因此引進種植后，該園終于成為了走對路子的名園。1853年，富有的銀行家Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild買下了Chateau Mouton，并正式改名為Chateau Mouton-Rothschild。十五年后他的堂兄也買下了旁邊的拉菲莊，拉菲莊Chateau Lafite-Rothschild的姓氏Rothschild跟武當王一樣。但是在1855年波爾多酒的評級中武當王并沒有拉菲那么幸運進入列級名莊第一級，它只排在第二級的第一名。為此他們家族要花上118年的時間和努力才爭回了第一級的榮譽。Chateau Mouton 輝煌時期的開端可以說是從1921起，當只有二十歲的Baron Philippe Rothschild走進莊園開始。為躲避一次世界大戰，Barnon Philippe從巴黎跑到波爾多。短短的一段時間后，他發覺自己非常喜愛這一片祖先留下的酒莊和葡萄酒。他說服了父親把酒莊交給他管理。1922年開始，他正式地成為了酒莊的主管經營人。Baron Philippe的一生不單單為本酒莊，還為波爾多酒的發展事業作出了巨大的貢獻。Baron Philippe自1947年起從亡父處繼承了遺產，正式成為Chateau Mouton 的擁有人。1987年Baron Philippe去世，很多波爾多酒莊都為他下半旗。1988年起，武當王由他女兒Philippine接手，并繼承父親遺志為葡萄酒和家族事業繼續努力。Philippine的事業奮斗心不減其父。她出訪世界各地，積極宣傳葡萄酒的文化，推廣波爾多酒，介紹木桐和家族的系列酒產品，在Chateau Mouton 設立葡萄酒文化博物館供游人參觀。近年又在智利開創酒園，并釀造出了很好的智利酒。 |
